Samoens is part of the Grand Massif region of France, which lies between Geneva and Mont Blanc.  It includes the towns of Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz and Flaine, and is one of the largest Ski areas in France, with an area of 265km, a reliable snow record and a lack of lift queues. The village is a typical mountain village set amid forest and is a "Historic Monument" with an ancient church, fountains and rustic old buildings.
